Missklicious Hu'u Bar & Grill - Seminyak, Bali
On my recent Bali trip, I was actually supposed to land at 10PM at night, which meant that we would miss out on dinner. The flight ended up being cancelled, so I changed to an earlier one which meant we were able to get into Bali at around 4:30pm. Score!
After checking into the Yubi villas, it was off to find some food nearby. Seminyak is a treasure trove of nice restaurants and boutiques, especially on Jalan Petitenget, where we stumbled upon Hu'u (the famous Ku de Ta and Potato Head are also located on this strip) I would definitely recommend staying in Seminyak instead of Kuta, as it is a nicer and quieter area.
Beautiful outdoor dining area at Hu'u with plenty of comfy looking lounges
Inhale... Imbibe... Indulge
Cocktail time - as with most of the bars in Bali, the cocktail list is impressive
'The best damn cocktail' - vodka, raspberry liquer & puree with muddled cherries and topped lemon lime & Coconut Cooler mocktail
A little appetizer to start off the night - grilled aubergine
We weren't totally ravenous, so just ordered a few small tapas like dishes to share
hot and sour scallop and prawn risotto - with a kaffir lime and shellfish reduction
The sweet and sour flavours really packed a punch in this, I really enjoyed the fresh, juicy prawns with the asian flavours against the risotto
Crisp pork belly - on mango salad with coriander puree
Cajun corn fritters - grilled corn and sweet pepper with a chilli thyme remoulade
Dessert cocktail time - The Forbidden Milkshake
Dessert platter - my favourite was definitely the pandan and palm sugar pancake thing, so yummy!
Fantastic atmosphere, especially for a few cocktails. I love Bali, will definitely be back for another visit as soon as possible.
The villa I stayed in Seminyak was fantastic too, pics below:
They upgraded our villa and were so welcoming and friendly, plus 24 hour room service and basically anytime you need, they'll drive you to anywhere in Seminyak (and then catch a taxi back at your leisure)
