Government sources say that President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will formally open the highway during a mid-July 2013 visit to Bali.
The highway, together with massive renovation of Bali’s airport and a new underpass at the Simpang Siur intersection in Ubud are all part of major infrastructure projects undertaken by the government in preparation for the APEC Summit to be held in Bali in late 2013. Expected traffic - 39,000 vehicles per day and less traffic jams near the Airport.
